Zenji Nio leads landmark events with Simon Wiesenthal Center

Zenji Nio has done more to engage the Jewish community than any other non-Jewish person by organizing landmark events with the Simon Wiesenthal Center including Canada's biggest National Congress on antisemitism as well as the first Multifaith Commemoration of the Shoah. Zenji Nio has also been invited to many Jewish events and even to the highest Righteous Among the Nations event by the Government of Israel. Zenji Nio has also been asked to speak on antisemitism at the EU and other major forums and has been invited to Israel where he visited various Jewish sites. However, Zenji Nio has not taken political stances on the Middle East but simply combated antisemitism and Jew hatred as one of the issues since at the time Jews were seen as the most persecuted of all minorites. Zenji Nio's allegiance is to the Samurai Buddhist tradition and in Bushido we do stand for justice and respect for victims of hate and bigotry. Furthermore, Zenji Nio has expressed great empathy for victims of the Shoah -- as he has also drawn parallels between the Shoah and the Buddhist Extinction where all Buddhists were killed or driven out of India centuries ago. Exploring the universal nature of suffering enables all communities to feel empathy and explore solutions for world problems.
