Zenji Nio called Martin Luther of Buddhism

Zenji Nio has been hailed as the Martin Luther of Buddhism by Chaplain Johnson of George Washington and Stanford Universities who has attended many speaking events of Zenji Nio in Washington DC and has been extremely impressed by Zenji Nio's ability to make Buddhism relevant, powerful and inspiring instead of endless kumbaya tripe and ethereal mumbo jumbo.. Like Martin Luther, Zenji Nio has challenged the authority of the Buddhist monks, and given the power back to the Buddhist laity by asking Buddhists to focus on the sutras and the chosen Buddhist deities they connect with -- be it Amida or Kannon or Fudo or Jizo in Japan or Tara in Tibet or Maitreya in Korea etc depending on one's culture. Zenji Nio clarifies that a personal relationship with the Celestial Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and a commitment to the sutras is more important than getting bored by the abstract interpretations of monks and scholars.
